When you use QuoteCha, you’re trusting us with your favorite words — and a bit of your personal info. That’s a big deal, and we don’t take it lightly.

This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Whether you’re saving a quote, sharing a board, or submitting your own words, we believe your data — and your trust — deserve respect.

We built QuoteCha to be simple, powerful, and personal. That includes how we handle your information.

1. Information We Collect

Email address (used for sign-in and account recovery)
Display name or username
Avatar settings and preferences

App Usage Data

Quotes you save, favorite, or submit
Boards you create, edit, or share
Categories you browse
Search terms and activity logs

Device and Technical Data

Device type, OS version, and anonymized identifiers
Crash reports and performance metrics

2. How We Use Your Information

Power core features like boards, favorites, and sharing
Save your content and preferences to your account
Suggest relevant quotes and categories
Monitor usage trends to improve the app
Detect, investigate, and prevent abuse or fraud

3. Storage and Sharing of Data

Your data is securely stored using Firebase services, including Authentication, Firestore, and Analytics. These services help us run QuoteCha reliably and securely.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Limited data may be shared with:

Firebase (Google) – for authentication, storage, analytics, and security enforcement
Analytics tools – for understanding app usage patterns
Legal authorities – only when required by law, such as for law enforcement requests or fraud prevention

Note: While we never manually inspect your saved content or board submissions, we cannot guarantee complete privacy, as quote content is not end-to-end encrypted.

Content Accuracy Notice: QuoteCha is meant for fun and inspiration — not formal research or citation. We do not verify every quote’s origin, and some quotes may be misattributed or paraphrased. Enjoy it playfully, knowing that 100% historical accuracy is not guaranteed.

4. Your Privacy Controls

You can:

Edit your display name, avatar, and other account settings
Turn off optional features like the Daily Quote
Request account deletion and data removal by contacting: privacy@quotecha.app

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit and Firebase Security Rules to protect your data. While no system is entirely immune to breaches, we follow best practices to reduce risk and secure your content.

6. Children’s Privacy

QuoteCha is not intended for children under 13. If we become aware that personal data from a user under 13 has been collected, we will take steps to delete it immediately.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in features, technology, or legal requirements. Updates will be posted in the app and/or on our website. Continued use of QuoteCha means you accept the current version of the policy.
